APPROACH

AIM

To determine an electricity energy strategy for Scotland 2032 or even beyond

WHY 2032?

The Scottish government has raised the challenge of reducing the country's carbon emissions by two-thirds by 2032, compared with the 1990 reference level, by mobilizing climate action in all sectors of its economy.

Electricity will be considered as the main source of energy and heating for the entire stock of buildings, and part of the transport, increasing future electric demand in Scotland as a whole.

Creating more renewable electricity: Scotland aims for a fully renewable energy grid by 2032 - the year that Scotland's last nuclear power plant will also be closed.

Proposals are being considered to promote the use of the response to energy demand and storage, with the expected result that by 2032 emissions from electricity generation will be negative. Coal station using Carbon Capture and Storage.

Will this be possible for 2032? Are we on the right path, or are we far from achieving it?
